What is an Affidavit of Judgment?

It is a sworn statement, recorded in the county records, that creates a lien on the real estate of a person or business that owes you a debt as determined by a court judgment.

Do you provide the court judgment itself?

No. You must already have a valid, final judgment issued by a court of law. We prepare the subsequent Affidavit required to enforce that judgment against real property.

Why do I need this document notarized?

County recording offices require the affiant’s signature to be authenticated by a commissioned notary public under penalty of perjury before the document can be officially recorded and the lien established.
